Kimpton Litter Pick will be the same format as previous years. We’ll meet at Claggy Stores at 10am and split into groups to pick litter in the country lanes before enjoying a well-earned drink (and home made cake) in The Boot from 1pm.
Litter Pick Day 2018 was a huge success. Across Kimpton, Peters Green and Whitwell there were 75 volunteers, our highest ever turnout, who cleared 264 bags of rubbish from 21 miles of country lanes. Since 2011 the annual litter picks have now removed over 1,467 bags of rubbish from the lanes around the villages so everywhere looks so much better as a result. Well done everyone who has been involved!
But there is plenty of new rubbish to clear this year, for the benefit of residents, visitors and wildlife. We want the village and surrounding countryside to look its very best for the spring and summer, especially for our community events coming up; Kimpton May Festival and Kimpton Folk Festival.
