Booking a table: We are now full for craft tables in 2018.
Local parking: We expect that the majority of visitors to the Christmas Market will come on foot. There will be no parking permitted on The Green on Saturday 8th December and there is very limited local street parking. Disabled parking will be available at Church House. The nearest public car parking can be found at Parkfield Sports Ground which is a 4 minute walk from The Green.
At the event for visitors
Craft marquee. Full of imaginative gifts made by local groups, organisations, businesses or individuals. You will be able to purchase unique handmade gifts, eye catching decorations for the home and tree, tempting food treats for the festive season and an array of original Christmas cards. It should be a delightful shopping experience with items to suit all ages and budgets that you won’t find on any High Street!
Christmas Grotto. For our younger visitors the magical atmosphere will come alive by meeting Father Christmas and taking part in some festive fun activities, hosted by KSA.
Music marquee. Live music will be provided by performances throughout the afternoon by our local talented musicians. Artists and timetable to follow.
Eat and Drink. Festive shopping can be thirsty work so enjoy hot Kimpton Apple Juice or mulled wine sold in our commemorative 2018 Kimpton Christmas Market mugs. Craft beers are to be supplied by Farrs Brewery and other drinks are available from our bar. Hot drinks will be available from MeltVan.
Enjoy a taste of Christmas with German bratwurst rolls or BBQ local lamb in wraps or a grilled vegetarian option is sure to offer a treat for everyone. Savory and sweet crepes are to be served by Mastercrepe.
Wheelchairs, mobile scooters and buggies. Whilst every effort is made to make the event fully accessible, the marquees may become congested and we would ask that consideration is given to using the buggy park, located near to the Christmas Grotto. The grass will be covered with matting but in inclement weather the ground may become soft. There will be steward assistance available if required.
Toilets. These are available in the Dacre Rooms, High Street and in Church House.
Dogs. Dogs are permitted at the event. However, due to congestion dogs will not be allowed in the craft marquee, with the exception of assistance dogs.
What to bring and wear? This is an outdoor event so please wear sufficient warm and waterproof clothing. The ground is uneven in places so visitors are asked to take care and sturdy footwear is advised. A torch may be useful in an emergency.
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Please ask at the Event Desk or a band of stewards will be available at locations around The Green to answer any questions. All queries can also be directed to Carina Helmn firstname.lastname@example.org or 07891 452832.
At the event for stall holders
Tables. These will be set up in the marquee and are to be covered with white banqueting roll. Stall holders are reminded that they are only able to use the table top, behind and on the floor but will not be allowed to use additional space to the sides. It may be a good idea to bring chairs for your comfort.
Lighting. The marquee will have sufficient interior lighting for the convenience of the public. However you may wish to consider battery lighting to illuminate your goods on the tables.
Heating. Some heating will be provided in the marquee but it is essentially an outdoor event, so please wear sufficiently warm clothing.
Flooring. The grass will be covered with matting.
Security. Please remember that the marquees will be open and so you will need to man your table and be responsible for your items at all times.
Drop off. Vehicles will only be allowed onto The Green for unloading between 9.30am and 11.30am with your table to be set up by 12 noon. We will be operating a one way system around The Green for vehicles, from the top around to the bottom. With the number of tables it is likely that the access road will become easily congested so we request that table holders unload promptly and then park off-site.
Pick up. For pick up vehicles will be allowed back onto The Green after 6pm.
Queries. Stewards will available to assist during the dropping off period. All queries can be directed to the Event Desk or Carina Helmn 07891 452832
